ENG-C130 – Employment Readiness and Applied English
Learners apply everyday, workplace, customer service, and digital English to job applications, résumés, interviews, workplace scenarios, integrated review, and a cumulative practical final assessment.
Course Overview
Course Description
Employment Readiness and Applied English is the final 10-hour course in the ENG-P100 certificate. Adult Spanish-speaking English learners apply the communication skills built in earlier courses to practical employment tasks, including completing job application information, describing work history, preparing a simple résumé, answering interview questions, reporting workplace problems, reading schedules and notices, and responding to customer or coworker situations.
The course uses role-play, guided speaking practice, workplace documents, smartphone-friendly messages, and strategic Spanish-language support while increasing English immersion. Learners complete an end-of-program self-assessment and a cumulative practical final assessment that evaluates introductions, schedules or notices, clarification, workplace problem reporting, customer service, forms or messages, and a simple job interview.
