Who should apply
Applicants should be able to document meaningful workplace safety coordination responsibilities, not merely general employment. Eligible experience may include: 1) Hazard recognition: participation in safety inspections, job hazard reviews, walkthroughs, or identification of unsafe conditions; 2) Incident prevention: involvement in safety briefings, toolbox talks, near-miss review, trend tracking, or prevention planning; 3) PPE selection: participation in selecting, issuing, inspecting, or coaching workers on PPE appropriate to hazards; 4) Reporting and documentation: completion or support of inspection logs, incident reports, training rosters, corrective-action records, or safety meeting minutes; 5) Corrective action: recommending, assigning, tracking, or verifying actions to address hazards or prevent recurrence. Experience should be recent enough to demonstrate current practical competence. Applicants who only attended general safety orientation, without applied responsibility, may receive partial or no equivalency.
