Class Overview

Class Description

In Week 3, learners work with a CPA to convert the business assumptions drafted in Weeks 1 and 2 into practical financial estimates and controls. The class connects customer demand, pricing, staffing, and operating decisions to startup costs, fixed and variable expenses, revenue assumptions, taxes, break-even requirements, and financial risk.

This hybrid class includes two 120-minute meetings: Meeting 5: Startup Costs, Pricing, and Break-Even — CPA Perspective and Meeting 6: Forecasts, Cash Flow, Controls, and Financial Risks — CPA Perspective. Learners prepare the financial sections of the same integrated business plan they will finalize with a bank officer in Week 4.
