Who should apply
This intermediate workforce certification exam is intended for applicants who can reasonably perform or explain CNA-level workplace decisions in a Tennessee care setting. Eligible applicants should meet at least one of the following: completion of a nurse aide training program; current or previous CNA or nursing assistant work experience; supervised long-term care, rehabilitation, hospital, home care, or assisted living support experience; or enrollment in a workforce program preparing for CNA employment. Applicants must be able to read workplace scenarios, select safe actions, understand standard precautions, recognize changes that must be reported, and distinguish CNA responsibilities from licensed nurse responsibilities. Applicants must agree to independent testing, truthful representation of experience, and confidentiality of resident information.
